Independent Football Regulator - For many years the football authorities have let clubs and their supporters down, whether that has been through failing to address wider financial issues in the game or allowing unscrupulous owners who were neither fit nor proper.
Having had the chance to take action, but failed to do so, the new independent regulator will now enforce this.
A healthy ownership model and a positive relationship with fans are both vital elements to sound management of our football clubs, which are also hugely important parts of our local history and heritage.
It was also great to slip in a mention for two local clubs and my own team, who are all currently top of their respective leagues! Worksop Town FC, Retford United Football Club and Notts County Football Club.
