There is currently no requirement for visual checks of dogs entering the country. Without them there is no hope of ending Puppy Smuggling.
The Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill will reduce the number of puppies allowed to enter the UK to 5 per vehicle, disrupting the abhorrent Puppy Smuggling trade. This is why I joined Dog's Trust Pawlitical in Parliament this week to pledge my support.
