Like many of my constituents, I am saddened by the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine and sympathise greatly with the Ukrainian people. It was hugely insightful and sobering to visit the UK Friends of Ukraine and Bank of Memories event in Parliament, an interactive exhibition for the two year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
At the exhibition, I was able to see the human stories behind the heroes that died defending Ukraine and experience in virtual reality the destruction that took place in the city of Mariupol at the hands of Russia.
