Delighted to congratulate the Home Secretary Priti Patel yesterday as we passed our landmark legislation to sort out this country’s immigration system and crack down on people smugglers and bogus asylum seekers.
This was despite the best efforts of the opposition and various members of the House of Lords trying to torpedo the legislation at every stage. They want open borders.
The new legislation, which will now await Royal Assent, will mean speedier removals, life sentences for smugglers and policies such as offshore processing and our resettlement plan in Rwanda.
