I fully agree with my friend and colleague Scott Benton MP that for the most extreme cases (and where there is no question of guilt), only the ultimate punishment would be appropriate.
It’s a view I’ve always held and I make no apologies for it. However, in the absence of this, whole life sentences must be given and I support plans by the Government to introduce this for child killers.
