Yesterday I spoke on the Retained EU Law Bill (REUL). Brexit is a process and something which is continually evolving. Part of this evolution will involve getting rid of many unnecesary laws we disagree with and now we have taken back control we are able to do this.
Not all of those laws will be bad - some are perfectly sensible things we would have legislated on anyway, such as regulations surrounding airlines - but we also need to make sure we do this properly and therefore decide which ones we keep, which ones we scrap and which ones we reform. This bill enables us to do that, with regular updates, but within a sensible time frame to be able to do it properly.
