Yesterday I spoke in the debate on Council Tax and highlighted some of the wastage by local authorities, such as Labour controlled Nottingham City Council, who lost £38m of taxpayers’ money through the failed Robin Hood Energy. Labour controlled Bassetlaw District Council also paid out the highest mileage rates in the country at 69p per mile, rather than the recommended 45p.
Contrast this to the responsible and balanced approach to public finances taken by Conservative controlled Nottinghamshire County Council.
